ThunderZap 5.0 for Yureka Comes With Robust Load Balancer, Rewritten Fast Charge Driver and Wider Compatibility
The last time Yureka received a TZ update has been like forever ago. So here comes the stimulating release of the year.
Presenting ThunderZap 5.0
1. ThunderPlug 5.0 – (New Hotplug Algorithm: Load Balancer)
Thunderplug has gone a major rewrite through all this time. Introducing, the Load balancer, a new hotplugging algorithm in town. This algorithm migrates the load tasks intelligently onto the CPU cluster. High load tasks get processed by big cores and low load ones by the LITLLE cluster. It doesn’t hotplug any CPU cores but instead does it while keeping all cores online.
But the old-school ‘Per-core Hotplug’ algorithm which was previously used is still there for the people who use it and prefer to use it 🙂
2. Scheduler Boost
This is a part and parcel of Thunderplug, enabling this will force big cluster to manage all the tasks aggressively to provide you with smoother experience at the cost of more power.
3. ThunderCharge 2.1
ThunderCharge driver has been rewritten and now supports separate interfaces for AC and USB custom current. That means you can tweak these settings individually instead of defining a global value.
4. Touch Boost Reloaded
Touch Boost has been improved both for ‘Load Balancer’ as well as ‘Per Core’ Hotplug model. It now also boosts the max frequency of all cores as soon as you touch the screen to give smoother operations like scrolling and gaming.
5. Support for Yureka+
Yureka+ is now also supported within the same kernel build. Now Yureka+ users can also enjoy the kernel 😉
6. CPU Undervolted for cooler operation
7. Performance and stability patches from CAF
- Flash the zip in recovery OR
- Install through ThunderZap Updater.
